Some Tips for Selecting Sports Training Equipment

There are many different types and brands of training equipment out there. You may end up feeling overwhelmed with all the choices you would have. You need to take into consideration that some of the equipment will target one kind of sports.

You would also notice that there are some out there that will do many different types of sports. You need to determine what one would be best for the sport that you are going to do. This way you will make sure that you are getting the right equipment for what you are going to need.

Some of the athletes out there will start to train hard on the sports training equipment out there to prepare themselves for a big game or competition in the near future. They will also make use of the equipment in the off season so that they would not have to do even more training during the season to get back to the previous years shape for the new season of competitions or games.

You know that no one wants to see an athlete out of shape for the new season. They would be afraid that the out of shape athlete would not be on top of their performance for the big event.

They may even believe that when you use sports training equipment you become better prepared for the game. Plus it may give them a better game in the same sense. They may even use the training equipment hours before the big game so that can become more prepared for the upcoming events.

Just like you would study for a difficult test so that you can be prepared for it. Some of the equipment may seem to be too much for you but with the right trainer to show you how you would need to use the equipment then you would not have too much trouble in the use of the equipment.

Another good idea is to have a well-trained fitness trainer stay with you for the first couple of times that you are using the new sports training equipment so if you would have any questions they are available to ask them.

Road Warriors: The New York Giants Incredible 2007 Championship Season

Road Warriors: The New York Giants Incredible 2007 Championship Season
From a sputtering early season to a stunning late-season flourish, the 2007-2008 New York Giants just kept on trucking all the way to a Super Bowl championship - in the process winning a remarkable 11 straight games away from home. It was a coming of age for Eli Manning, and an ageless performance by Michael Strahan and the stout Giants defense, and the New York Post documents every exciting stop along the way, from the preseason through the postseason.

Customer Review: Wonderful trip through an amazing season

The book takes you through, in real time, the entire football year for the Giants, and some of it's not pretty. The Post's reporters and columnists are fans, but they're also honest, sometimes to the point of brutality.

It's amazing how many observations by players and coaches throughout the season have such resonance for the postseason. Fascinating stuff.

The photographs are splendid. The only thing marring this otherwise perfect book is a slew of typos. But any Giants fan will overlook this minimal flaw and just bask, especially in the last few chapters, of this account of one of the most amazing seasons in NFL history.

Customer Review: Spectaular photos, excellent text - A must for Giants Fans

Kudos to the New York Post and Triumph Books for this instantly produced

book on the Giants amazing season and Super Bowl triumph.

The book is a pictorial walk through the entire season, accompanied by

insights on each game from the Post's sports writers, culminating, of course, in what must be the most exciting Superbowl ever played.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will be picking it up again and again to thumb through those photos and savor the glorious end to a remarkable

season.

Damn Yankees

Damn Yankees
America's pastime gets a Faustian twist in this 1958 studio musical, which recounts the ballpark bargain struck by an aging Washington Senators fan obsessed with helping his team trump the Yanks. With echoes of the real-life 1919 Shoeless Joe Jackson scandal, and tart observations on the tradeoffs between youth and experience, Damn Yankees fuses a classic dramatic dilemma with musical comedy to often charming effect.

In transferring George Abbott's Broadway hit to the screen, codirectors Abbott and Stanley Donen are smart enough to retain Richard Adler and Jerry Ross's clever songs, Bob Fosse's sizzling choreography (with Fosse himself on camera for the sultry mambo number), and stars Ray Walston and Gwen Verdon, reprising their devilish turns as the Horned One himself, Mr. Applegate, and his temptress, Lola. Where the team strikes out, unfortunately, is in their concession to marquee politics, handing the pivotal role of Joe Hardy to handsome, vapid, celluloid heartthrob Tab Hunter, whose thin voice and unsteady screen presence argue that he should have stayed in the dugout.

Walston is reliably spry and acerbic as the canny archangel, and Verdon, in one of her rare starring screen turns, confirms the comedic timing and sexy, muscular grace that made her a deserved draw in subsequent stage hits including another Fosse triumph, Sweet Charity. With her combination of feline grace and alternately steely, flirtatious femininity, Verdon makes you believe her when she sings, "Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets." --Sam Sutherland

Customer Review: damned yankees.............damn good!

i'm just a sucker for great old films......very good picture and sound....also it's neat to see how everything looked back in the 50's such as people, clothes, cars, homes and how even cities looked in general,....streets , buses and everything.

Customer Review: Damn Yankees

While musicals were never really my forte, I saw this one at the movies when I was a kid and loved it .... still do. Ray Walston was a HOOT !

Customer Review: Fun but flawed

The Good

I'm not usually big on sports simulation, but this one is pretty good. It isn't to tough and the options are good(love the create a player mode). I liked the fact that with create players and trading you could take the crappiest team in the league and make them the best(which I couldn't do on the last NHL game I bought which was 94 on the old Sega Genesis.) Or vice versa. Lol. The P.A's hilarious(my favourite is when he announces that their accepting resumes for a new p.a(public address) man. And it's the hometeam that wants to get rid of him. Kudo's for not making the p.a just bland and repeating the same thing about goals and such.

The Bad

Well there's a few bad points to it. Your AI controlled players on your team are next to useless(they give incoming forward wide berths in your zone. and seem to skate senselessly around) Cheap goal(Backhands going in on in from the bluline? 100mph slapshots from right in front of the net?) and as some have pointed out already, the AI controlled team goes on scoring spurts where everytime they shoot the puck at your net it goes in. But there's a balance they forgot to mention that you also go on these type of spurts and they don't happen in every game. But it's still annoying when your up 3 goals near the end of the last period and your suddenly down 2 with 10 seconds to go. Also the animations and p.a stuff is a bit repetetive.

The Ugly

Why do all the coaches look the same?(plus the NHL president) and is it just me or do all the coaches look like a young Vince Mcmahon?

Customer Review: if you thought this was good, wait untill you see NHL 2004!!

NHL 2003 is a fenominal game! I have it for PC and it is so cool! the graphics have improved greatly since last year, there is a new game breaker where the game goes in like a slow moe for like 5 seconds so you can see where to shoot to go for goal. The players respond more accurately to the puck. But wait. the year is almost over. why get that when you can get NHL 2004,which is comming. It's more physical than ever before, with new Bruise Control, an all-new fighting system, more realistic player collisions, and powerful visuals such as popping helmets and breaking glass.Total player control allows you to direct 2-button touch sensitive passes anywhere on the ice, call team strategies on the fly, and aggressively tie up opponents against the boards and in front of the net. Take on the role of GM for up to 20 seasons, drafting and trading players, negotiating contracts, and managing the financial bottom line of your franchise. Earn valuable experience points to upgrade your GM office and/or purchase improvements to staff and facilities, thus improving your team's on ice performance. 39 new international teams from Germany's DEL, Sweden's Elitserien, and Finland's SM-Liga. My advice to you would be wait untill NHL 2004 comes out and then see which one you like more.

Customer Review: Follow the order and this program won't be too fast

I am not in an area where pilates instruction is offered. I have tried other pilates DVDs and found them to be too difficult. This program, though not 'fancy,' is thorough, well-organized and easy to understand.

I am still only at the basic modified work-out but do not believe the program is too fast. It may seem too fast if you jump in at the more advanced levels without going through the first level at least once.

The voice-over instruction is clear and well-timed with the exercises. I didn't find him hard to understand at all.

If you're interested in a thorough instruction in pilates, this is the DVD for you!

Customer Review: Great DVD, but not for first-timers

I spent 3 years taking a group pilates class, but lost most of my strength and form after 3 pregnancies. Trying to get to the gym with three kids is impossible, so I purchased this DVD to guide me back to my glory days. Had I not had years of experience in which to perfect these exercises, this video would had been a horrible introduction to Classical pilates. However, because I was trained and simply out of shape, it was a great refresher. I do find the pace a bit fast--yes this is part of the challenge--but I prefer to slow down a bit and focus on my form rather than be sloppy and race through it. My advice? If you're a beginner, don't buy this video unless you are in a class or taking other instruction. If you aren't a beginner, but aren't in top form either, watch the video in its entirety several times and determine what level matches your fitness level. Listen to the pointers (which might not be mentioned until repetition 4 of 5), make mental notes, and write down the workout sequence on a piece of paper. With this sheet as a guide, I can slow down when the exercises are tougher for me than they are for the instructor, but still keep the video on for inspiration and guidance. Yes, it's a bit dry. But the focus of classical pilates is your breath and form as you perform these exercises. Music, color, and flashy instructors would only be detractions.

Nikon Lens Pen Cleaning System

Nikon Lens Pen Cleaning System
Your binocular or telescope uses highly precise optics. It's important to keep them as clean as possible to assure the best performance. Nikon makes it really easy and simple with the Lens Pen Cleaning System.

Customer Review: Neat little tool!

I like this pen because it's compact and has a great little brush attachment. The other end is used for cleaning smudges off of the lens, but I found it's just better to use the spray for smudges. All in all, it still helps me clean off dust and tiny smudges in a compact case.

Customer Review: Works great!

The pen works great for cleaning my lenses. It was shipped in a timely manner and does exactly what they said it would do. I would recommend it to anyone interested in one!
