Customer Review: The Matches Don't Match the Hype

I remember the huge build-up that Wrestlemania got back in '85, and it's clear that in its infancy, Vince McMahon and the WWF weren't really sure what they were going to get.



This video takes you through the event, and it came across like one of the TV shows, where the star goes into the ring and squashes a jobber in a matter of minutes. Yes, there were some main-event caliber matches in the middle of the card, but a lot of these were really disappointing.



This was also the beginning of the end of the "realism" of pro wrestling, and it was when I started to get turned off by a lot of it, i.e., the hype, the subplots, the BS story lines.



The good matches? Rick Steamboat and Matt Borne was entertaining, but you pretty much knew who was gonna win. The Steamer put on his usual moves, and the veteran Borne did a good sell job.



Bruno Sammartino, Jr. against Brutus Beefcake was probably the best of all the matches. The younger Sammartino never did achieve anywhere near the success of his famous father, but then how could anyone match that? He gives it a good go against Beefcake, and there's the usual running around the ring of the elder Sammartino and Johnny Valiant.



Barry Windham and Mike Rotondo vs. Nikolai Volkoff and the Iron Sheik was a good old Cold War style battle, and this was pretty decent old school wrestling. The bad guys won, but then again you can't have the goodies win 'em all or it'd be boring.



Now the clunkers: King Kong Bundy squashes SD Jones (the fall guy all the time) in 9 seconds...a stupid joke if there ever was one. Boring, nothing funny about it.



Wendi Richter w/Cyndi Lauper vs. Lelani Kai w/Fabulous Moohlah for the Women's title: two women yanking each other around by the hair, and two prima donnas running around the ring outside. Boring.



The main event was the biggest clunker of them all--now, Mr. T might have been physically strong, but he is dwarfed in the ring by Hogan, Piper and Orndorff, and it's obvious he is kept out of harm's way throughout the match. Too much posing, stomping around and goofing off. And the match ends in a way everyone had to see coming: Bob Orton, Jr.'s attempt to conk Hogan with his cast backfires and the bad guys lose.



OK, entertaining for those who didn't want to see through all the idiocy, but I guess I just wasn't one of 'em. Wrestlemania did get better, and McMahon should be applauded for trying different things to make wrestling have the mass appeal it does today. But, well, this one just didn't do it for me on the whole.

I picked this camera up two months ago and it's been great. The functions are easy to use and the pictures turn out well. My favorite feature is the color accent feature. The camera fits in your pocket and travels well. I'm a novice photographer and this camera has more than exceeded my expectations. As an added bonus, the price has dropped $40 since I picked it up in mid-January. I would highly recommend this camera.

rock vs mankind vs kane vs hhh vs bulldog vs BIG SHOW and Austin as special ref as well as commentator



i read a lot of people's comments about this match saying that is was very good to a great match i mostly agree with them sticking to the very good to borderline great match category before the match i always love seeing all the wrestlers entrances during a large match as this because i can hear different crowd reactions toward the wrestlers and see the different personality of each wrestler reminding the days of when i played football and had a large pep rally to get the team hype up before playing a game that is what the wrestlers entrances remind me of the during the pacing of the match was normal there were some good spots when mankind piledived hhh on the steel steps, the bulldog doing a hbk like bump when irish whipped toward the turnbuckle, and the rock taking austin's beer and spitting it in hhh's face was famous watch what austin had to say when the rock took his brew by the way austin was not all the special referee he was special guest commentator with jerry the king and jim ross austin as expected austin was enjoyable talking throughout the entire match when he retired in 2003 he should have went to be a full time commentator with michael cole and jbl on smackdown i always wanted to see jbl and austin go out since they are on around the same level of speaking ability being very good but i would put austin over jbl just a 1/4 over jbl back to the match it was continous action from start to finish for 20 minutes i would have liked austin to be in the match making it a good luck match since 7 is a lucky number but i was not disappointed with the wrestlers who particiapted in the contest this match was almost similar to the hiac with only exception being that there was no cell involved hhh took the victory by getting the 1,2,3 on the rock by austin who had no chocie but to do his duty what dragged the match down a tad was the large crowd of referees outside the ring during the match i did not understand that situation at all there were at least 6 six of them there not counting the one that was in the ring directing the match when chaos occured between the refs austin went to open up a can of whipping on them and then he did his job as a ref by calling out the remaining of the match this match was kind of difficult to grade while the average rating of this match is anywhere from a **** to ****1/4 a part of me tells it to give this match a ***3/4 but the other part of me is saying give it a ****1/4 i going to go with giving this match **** if there were not six referees there at the duration of the match i probably would have given this match ****1/4 but i can do that because all of the refs there was unneccessary, unreasonable, and too annoyning for my prefering the aftermatch was one of the best aftermatches if not the best i have ever seen when austin slowly gave the belt to hhh and hhh just took it from him because austin was taking too long to give hhh his belt after hhh grabbed the belt for austin and posed with it in austin's face austin had enough with hhh and just stunned him and that is how the entire match ends

This bottle gets the job done, but it could be better. After you shake it up and open the drink spout, there will most likely be powder caught on the spot. There will also be very thick shake at the bottom of it when its almost gone.

After having a unit work flawslessly for six months on my front driveway and a second on my rear deck, I am buyung a third sensing unit to place on my front porch. I get no false alarms and very good coverage from each unit. Plenty of warning when a person or car is on your property. The way I have them aimed, the neighborhood (four-legged) critters do not set off the alarms. Very happy with this system.

I'm very satisfied with this driveway alert system. I mounted mine to a tree in my front yard, about 3-4 ft. off the ground, facing my garage doors and front sidewalk. It works every time anyone pulls into our driveway! It's great if you're expecting company, or a babysitter, as you can be waiting by the front door to greet them. Or, you can be alerted to a solicter before they ring your doorbell. I bought a second unit for my back deck, mainly for peace of mind. Now, if anyone comes near the back door, I'll know about it. My systems have never given any false alarms, yet. I think if you follow the instructions and mount it high enough, you won't have any trouble. My one piece of advice is: If you live in a cold climate like me, spend the extra $$ on Lithium batteries. They work through about any temperature. We've had a cold spell of up to minus 17F recently and these things still work every time! My one complaint is that there's no volume control. The alarm is fairly loud, but if I'm upstairs, or in the basement watching a movie I don't always hear it. I'd suggest mounting the base unit in a central location where you're most likely to hear it best.

Customer Review: Great gamewith some practice

I ordered this game to play with my girlfriend as she has just started playing Xbox 360 and enjoys golf. I got the game and played through some of the Tiger Challenge which was really great practice. There are so many challanges and places to play that you can spend a great deal of time just enjoying all the locations. As mentioned in other posts the graphics for this game are amazing. If you have not played a Tiger Woods golf game before the controls can be very sensitive and difficult to adjust to but after a few games you get the hang of it.



My only disappointment so far with the game was the gamer profile creation system which needs some work. The controls are not intuitive and the entire process was very frustrating.

As an older gamer (early 40s) I thoroughly enjoy the Tiger Woods franchise golf games. EA Sports really knows how to package a fun, entertaining game that will keep you engaged for months.



The best feature of this game is the new Game Face. As I'm sure other reviewers have stated, this is a great feature that allows you to load your own photo into the game so you can play as yourself. And I have to say, it works great! I don't look exactly the same, but for a CGI avatar, I turned out looking just like me. I also loaded my son's photo so we can play each other...as each other. It makes the game very fun.



Another great feature is the streaming sports ticker provided by ESPN. As an ex-pat who lives overseas, the ticker is a great way to keep up on the world of U.S. sports. And the updates are virtually immediate. The My Skills challenges to ramp up your skill set are also fun to complete.



There are too many features in this game to list, but it's an improvement over 2007. I bought the 2007 edition when it came out, and the most disappointing thing was the putt preview function was missing. It's back in 2008. But they only let you look at the read one time. So it's helpful at the same time adding more challenge than previous versions that had this feature.



The lone drawback, and this is why I only gave it 4 stars, is the time it takes to load the game. Between hole loads are very fast, but the initial startup time is way too long. And don't even think about waiting in front of the screen for your own Game Face photo to load. Kick off the process, go get a drink, watch some TV, and when you come back, if you're lucky, your photo will be loaded and ready for configuration.



All-in-all a great game. The graphics are astonishingly beautiful and it's nice to have a game in my son's library at which I can actualy beat him!



It's well worth the investment.
